Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Zoe Leigh, a 22 year old artist trying to make it in the art world.

I dabble in most mediums of art, I draw, sing, write, act, paint, play instruments… you name it. Except I just don’t dance much, I do tap dance a little though, and I’d love to take lessons one day.

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I would draw pictures and write stories in my free time in elementary school after the school day had ended. When I got home, I’d practice singing along to my favorite artists, thinking I was just as good as there were. I would even “deco-ate” as little 3 year old me would put it. Now I’m trying to take that dream of little ole me and make it a reality.

I graduated from an early college high school, meaning I received a two year degree while also getting my high school diploma, in May of 2020. I am currently attending UNC Charlotte as an art major with a concentration in print media, while also minoring in Spanish and theatre. Alongside my major and minors, I am in the Arts and Architecture Honors Program with UNCC’s College of Arts and Architecture.

Currently, I am doing a lot of projects with photography, printmaking, and painting. Most of my subject matter is related to either environmental activism, social change, or portraiture.

Ideally, my future career/life will consist of me
– being a freelance artist/small art business owner doing commissions, selling originals and prints, and merchandise with my designs
– working with ocean conservation campaigns and organizations using my art
– doing some photography/videography, maybe underwater
– writing and publishing novels, poetry, and art books
– performing and/or working backstage for theatre productions and the sort
– creating for a relatively successful youtube channel featuring my art in all its forms (i.e. visual art, performing arts, creative writing, etc.)
All while preferably while living at the beach with a dog… or ten
